Today is birthday day for my love, Jeffery.
On Sunday, the three of us went to Casa Bonita because Jeffery had never been. It was as awful as everyone told him… and yet we were all together. Therefore, we had a blast.
He even made us walk through Bart’s Cave.
At any rate, if you have a moment today, just stop and hum Happy Birthday in honor of my love’s birthday. I will feel the vibes and pass on the love (in my fashion of course) to him.
Happy birthday, my love! May you have a good day.

I’m taking back this day and making it something special!
Today’s is not just any other day anyway – it’s Jason’s birthday and so work night be damned, we are partying tonight!
We are off to Croc’s downtown to celebrate with some drinks and some karaoke.
This day will forever be known as the one and only Jason’s birthday.
And monkey’s be damned. Stoopid poopy creatures.

Dear Mom,
Today is your birthday.
But what is really interesting about this day is that it was almost 11 am before I remembered that today was your birthday.
When I did remember, I paused for a moment. I’ve not forgotten this day in 21 years. For one silent moment, I was completely astounded.
Then I smiled.
I turned to my friend/coworker, Angela, and said, “Hey, today is my mom’s birthday.”
“Oh really,” she smiled.
“Yes. She would’ve been 65 today.”
Angela’s smiled brightened and the warmth spread through to her voice, “And you just shared that story with me about the childhood memory of your mom. That’s so great that you have those memories and that today was the day you shared one with me.”
I smiled back at her. Because it was great. I may not have remembered today was your birthday. But I remembered you.
I remember you.
Happy birthday, Mommy.
Love,
Mon-Mon

I celebrated my birthday this month… even had the infamous birthday weekend wherein my birthday fell on Friday. Which means that you have to keep the celebration going the entire weekend, of course.
I did have to work another brutal 15 hour day on my actual birthday – which meant getting up at 3am with almost no sleep. I mean, who can sleep when they know they have to get up at 3am to go to work. I then worked all day with no lunch. So that part was super hard. But it was over before I knew it and then it was home first to change.
Jeff took us out for a lovely dinner at a wonderful restaurant downtown. It was a celebration of both our birthdays since he also has a birthday this month. We ate a wonderful meal and then went next door to visit one of the husbands while he worked. We had a couple of cocktails at the bar.
We then went to LoDo’s downtown to have yet another cocktail with friends of Jeff’s. By this time, I’d shared a bottle of wine with Jeff and had at least three other drinks and been up since 3am… so I was a bit tipsy. But that didn’t stop of us from joining our friend, Erenne, for yet more drinks at the local watering hole. We then made it home… where I promptly fell asleep drooling on Jeff. Heh. So much for a birthday schtup!
Luckily, we were quite frisky the next morning… and I got some fantastic sex. And then again that afternoon – woot! We then set about getting ready for Skylab 2007! First we stopped off to visit the working husband again and have a couple of cocktails, then we swung by our friend Tina’s house to have a couple cocktails there and meet up with her peeps. Then all of us headed out to Skylab.
The venue was out in east Timbuktu but it was awesome! A huge warehouse where main Skylab was held. A separate building that had a 21 and over bar. A 700 foot tent – and all of these areas had their own DJs spinning kick ass music. It was crawling with people to meet… and we set about doing just that, all the while hanging out with Tina, Jill and their group of troublemakers. It was a blast! We then went home for yet another round of sexual antics before finally going to sleep around 6am on Sunday.
On Sunday, my wonderful husbands came over for a pre-planned barbeque. We also invited Heather and Erenne to join us. I grilled us up some buffalo burgers and whipped up a quick but yummy mango and jicama salad with a chile-lime-tequila vinaigrette. Erenne brought some potato salad and Heather brought a pie. I also made up the very last batch of brownie mix I’d had leftover from another lifetime. It was a big old grubfest and an end to a wonderful birthday weekend!
We had one last hurrah this weekend when a few of our friends came out for drinks at LoDo’s downtown. It was a grand time, and we appreciated everyone who came up to celebrate one last time with us. Then we came home and had yet another long night of hot sex. Yay me!
I got everything I wished for this birthday. Special time with the man I love. A wonderful night out with friends… more than once. A kickass rave-party. And lots and lots and lots of sex.
I am a woman who is satisfied.

Well we are off… camping for the weekend. We are making camp at the beautiful Camp Gaya for four days and three nights.
We are driving eight hours to get there…. I’ve only had three hours of sleep… because it was Jeremy’s 37th birthday yesterday… and I stayed up until 130ish am… and got up at 5am to work…
Who’s the dummy?
Me, I am.

Actual conversation while watching Breaking 2; Electric Bugaloo:
Him: “This is like a really bad episode of Fat Albert and the Cosby kids.”
Me: “You are so right!”
Him: (as Fat Albert) “Hey, hey, hey kids! We’re going have to save the youth center.”
Me: (laughs)

Today is my daddy’s birthday. He would’ve been 88 years old.
When my daddy died, his sister and her children cried. Even when his sister was so old she couldn’t remember anyone else, she cried for her Elias (my daddy’s name.)
When my daddy died, his wife’s brothers and sisters cried too. To this day, when my uncles speak about him, there is such respect and admiration in their voice that I am moved to tears.
When my daddy died, a big hole was left in the hearts of his five children. His older daughter visits his grave yearly, leaving flowers in memory of a father she didn’t get the chance to see very often in life. His three sons mourn for their father and I hope provide stability in the lives of their children as he seemed to do for them. And his younger daughter, well she grieves for the man she didn’t get to know.
I remember a man who would watch TV while he sat on his knees and ate peanut M&Ms without wearing his dentures. I remember a man who would grab at my mom’s breast, which would make her call out to him in an an exasperated but loving voice “Tata!” which was her nickname for him. I remember a man who would break out in song without reason and pull you into a dance with him.
I remember dancing with this man just once at a wedding, and he was a very good dancer. I remember a man who would play with my toes when I was sitting next to him. I remember a man who went out of his way for his family.
I remember a man who loved his family. He was a good man. I love you, daddy. Happy birthday.
