Actual conversation over drinks with coworkers/friends about reality shows:
Him: She loves that show about rodents…
Me: They are not rodents, they are meerkats!
Wife of coworker: Ah Meerkat Manor.
Him: Anyway the writers make up these elaborate, drama-filled back stories for these ferrets…
Me: They are not ferrets!!
Him: And Sean Astin is the narrator…
Me: He doesn’t know what he’s talking about…
Him: I’m certainly not going to believe a hobbit!
Me: I am not a hobbit!
Him: (laughing) Not you – Sean Astin!
Wife of coworker: Ohmigawd, that’s funny! You’re a hobbit!

This is so cute/funny! GOSH I didn’t know Meerkat Manor was an ongoing show, I thought it was a one time deal. I wish my mom watched that instead of COPS…
Speaking of, the other day I was visiting my hospice patient and she had this true crime show going REALLY LOUD and it was all about this sexual predator who was raping teenage girls and they kept showing close ups of the soiled sheets and graphically describing what happened and I was so disturbed because I wonder if everyone watching that show was getting turned on like I was, if that was the unspoken intention of turning their tragedies into entertainment.
